Washington Bound

Stephen left this afternoon to drive a bus full of ROTC students to the inauguration. He is sharing his bus with Anita, while Don and Larry drive the other one. It is a scary thought to be going into that mess. I told him the highway will be packed with other buses headed the same direction. One McDonalds stop could take up to two hours. Can you imagine!!!! One of the buses does not have a bathroom, so frequent stops are on the agenda. I think I would have another stroke!!! For both him and Anita to be gone at the same time is almost more than I can imagine. There are so many rules for them to even be able to enter D.C.. They have to have permits to enter the city. You can not leave a bus idling longer than 3 minutes. They ALWAYS leave the buses running. Stephen said they were going to freeze. He took enough clothes to ensure many layers. It will be an experience

I bought two new board games at walmart yesterday, a book to read and lots of junk food, so we will have plenty of fun. Janette is coming to spend the night tonight! We will have to dig out a good old movie and eat popcorn! NO TEAR JERKERS! Felicia is already missing Daddy. She is the only one who cried last time he went on a bus trip. I told him NOT to call her, but he did anyway and she cried for an hour. I assured him with alllll my experience at this, it is better if you don't call. She told him "This time Daddy, don't call me!" Conrad said "it's ONLY five days" I guess he doesn't remember all the times he cried when he was five and Daddy James went out of town. How soon we all forget! It is sad to see such lapses in memory in one so young!! For now, PARTY ON!!
